Workshop Note

Here is a photo belonging to BlueberryA, showing what a lotus really looks like, compared to the water-lily of my main picture.
Apparently, the difference is in the pistil, and the shape of the petals too.

However, according to marina7, this is the Nelumbo-lotus or sacred lotus.
The flower on the main post is a water-lily, but can also be called nymphaea-lotus or pink lotus.
