Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world at 1630 km². It is located along the southern coast of Queensland, Australia, approximately 300 km north of Brisbane. Its length is about 124 km. It was inscribed as a World Heritage site in 1992. (7 photos)

Here are photos from three weeks in Portugal in January 2008. Other than visiting family and relatives, I had time for some tourist visits to old monuments and places. I also had the opportunity of participating in a meeting with some of the Portuguese TE members. (26 photos)

Southern Africa by Antonio Ribeiro (22730) 2007-08-28 - 2007-09-08

During 12 days, my wife and I visited Johannesburg (South Africa), Victoria Falls (Zambia) and an elephant park (Zimbabwe), crossed the Zambezi River into Botswana and went on visiting the Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta and the North Kalahari Desert.
It was one of the most beautiful holidays we ever had and we do recommend this beautiful part of Africa to all TE members.

Myanmar 2007 (Second trip) by Antonio Ribeiro (22730) 2007-03-23 - 2007-04-17

I am back in Burma for another four weeks of hard work on a drilling platform. For a good start, I spent five days working in the office and I was lucky enough to see the weekend included in the 5 days. As the drilling campaign is coming to an end now, I will spend an extra week in the office when I get off the platform to finish and wrap up all the reports I need to write. In the meantime, I will take some time off to continue exploring the beautiful city of Yangon and, of course, to share with you all the result of such expedition. I hope you will enjoy it as much I do.

Myanmar 2007 (First trip) by Antonio Ribeiro (22730) 2007-01-08 - 2007-02-10

This is my first ever trip to Myanmar. I am participating on an offshore gas field drilling project and I will spend most of the time on board of the rig Sedco 601. The project is supposed to last for three months and during that time I am hopping to be able to visit Yangon and possibly the city of Sittwe located in the North-West coast, near the border with Bangla Desh.

When possible, I will be posting some pictures during the weeks ahead depending on my spare time and on how often I can visit those two cities. (7 photos)

Having been to Singapore many times before just for less than 24 hours on each occasion, it was time to be there for a longer period and visit as many corners of the city as possible.
