In 1581, one year after 99 pct of Portugal lost its independence to Spain, as predicted by the shoemaker, poet and prophet Bandarra one generation before in Trancoso, his books were forbidden.
1582 the last resistors were slaughtered at Vila Franca.
Portugal ressuscitated 1640 in Lisbon, as predicted by Bandarra.

Bandarra did not make any prophecies about the second time Portugal would lose its independence.
But not even Bandarra would ever dream of what that second time would be.
