At 1098m the Belchenfluh is only a minor summit in Switzerland. But located right at the edge of the Jura mountains it offers a gorgeous view over Switzerlands main plateau and the Alps from Säntis in the east to Mont Blanc in the west. To the less spectacular north one can see the Black Forest in Germany and the Vosges in France.

In fall and winter the Swiss Plateau is quite fog ridden. As the Belchenfluh usually peaks out of the clouds, it makes for spectacular images during that time.
