Photographer's Note
Sulfur miner's morning starts from the sulfur mine, filled with toxic sulfur gas, placed 2400m above sea level at caldera of Mt. Kawai Ijen, an active volcano located in east Java.
They dig the sulfurs in the gas, and carry them on their shoulder thourgh dangerous looking steep and narrow trail of the crater. The weigh is around 70~80 kg,and they have to carry 6 km round trip in order to get 6 dollars...

A good portrait of a hard life at work, I especially like the way the yellow sulphur colours the photo, reflected in the worker's T-shirt. The DOF also works well.

Hello JS,
Being very much into Asia it's been a pleasure going through your gallery. This is a stand-out shot for me, great colour palette with lots of varieties of yellow and a very interesting subject. I like the way the man looks into your lens. Excellent sharpness and depth of focus too, in a classic rule-of-thirds composition. Thanks for sharing.
Benny
