Another kite surfing photo. Not the nicest weather, but more than enough wind for these people to enjoy. A cloudy dull sky too, just to add to the mood. A bright kite in a gloomy sky.

really impressive colour contrast. The very dark and threatening sky against the bright and fast kite... good selection of the object, indeed. Also sharpness is very fine.

Greetings, Paul. I was drawn to this because of my own efforts to capture some snow surfers in the French alps a couple of months ago. I've tried the seagoing type here in Melbourne but have so far been unhappy with the compositional aspects - the 'kite' part of it always seems to far away, too small, or something else. This one works well because you've placed yourself behind the surfer, you have good foreground interest, and the light is very unusual. I like the impact of the white water and that bright yello in contrast to the darkness of the sky and sea. Pretty good shot, if you ask me.

Hi Paul, Fantastic composition and POV. I really like the bollard thingies in the foreground. The colour of the kite is a great contrast against the dark sky.

lovely shot which captures the mood perfectly with the bright sail set against the dark sky. The posts in the foreground are an interesting feature and I like the position you took up behind the surfer. A super photograph, well seen.

Hi, Paul. I think the dull sky helped you to create contrast with the yellow kite. Bad weather is not always so bad for photographers ;o). There are a lot of nice diagonal lines in your picture, which gives a very good structure to it. The surfer and his kite scale the picture very well.
