Photographer's Note
Oh my Dream ...
The title of an old Tamil love song from the famous film 'Avanthaan Manithan', 'He is a pure man'.
This man was sitting at the border road-side in front of the Meenakshi Temple last Sunday at 7:30 in the morning. ( a close portrait of him in the WS )
After I took this photo we sat down with him, having a tea together with Anand, Yan and Silvia and soon we were surrounded by a bunch of curious people wondering why we gave this man so much attention, for once in the center, mostly walked by and even not noticed. Sure when he will see other foreigners he will look forward to meet them as friends and maybe sharing another tea ... so please do, he is a pure man !
Enjoy

Henk,
A wondderful Analogy of the song!...
he almost looks like the hero of the movie in the last scenes!
Too haunting.
Thanks,
Prem.

Beautiful!! Strange hair..! strange man.
He is looking up, while you were low in capturing him: I understand that this was because there were other people with you.
Tha background is funny for the contrast! But there is also some relationship between the attitude of the man and of the lady in the poster.
Ciao Henk, ciao!!!

Hey Henk!
A very good portrait of the man you posted today - the gesture is a bit funny, like he is rubbing his hands in pleasure or something...His gaze upwards is intriguing on it's own...
Nice tribute to this man, Henk!

Dag Henk,
John.

Dag Henk,
Many thanks for this close portrait of a pure man and in particular for you note which really testifies that good pictures need us to come closer to reality. I am myself shooting too many landscapes... often forgetting that the world around us is living...and made out of a wide diversity of men and women... well worth sitting with them and sharing a tea.
Thanks a lot for this truly expressive portrait.

This reminds me of another tamil song "kanavu kaanum vaazhkai yaavum kalainthu pogum kolangal" meaning, "the dreams you have of life are mere kolams that will disappear"
(kolam : an artwork done in front of every house every day using rice powder)
Great work Henk...
