Photographer's Note
the Grand Bazaar was built by 1461, under the rule of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror...during the 16th and 18th century, many fires and earthquakes broke out near or in the Bazaar...the whole story of the Bazaar is one of continuous destruction and reconstruction...(it still is, like many touristic places in Turkey...)
bazaar includes an area of 30,700 square meters, with 65 streets and alleys and over 4000 shops...
it is not a place for the faint hearted...you will be constantly barraged with pushy salesmen that usually begins with: "excuse me please", "this way, please" or the ever popular "where are you from?" and "are you American?...or Spanish...or French" as you stroll past the shops....

Wow, I have been three tims in this bazaar, but I didn't pay attention for the details of the building. I guess that I was so excited about the colors, the smells and the noises of the market. Wonderful shot, and a very interesting detail. I have a theme, called "Just look up", dedicated for things that we usually ignore, because we never look up. This is a great addition for my theme, and an excellent shot. Well done, Fusun.

I remember the time we were there with the salesman trying to sell us the porcelain plates that seem to be there in thousands....still have the plate:-)Beautiful imagery and great symmetrical designs. Great workshop editing too:-)

The curvature of the line work and the richly colored ceiling are striking. The patterns are wonderful and seem so simple with the chaos of the bazaar below. Well done.

Great interior view of this beautiful bazaar, Fusun. I like that there are so many arcs in your shot, and how well you captured the decorative paintings on the walls as well as the effect of daylight falling in through the window. Also your shot looks very relaxing, compared to the busy bazaar life that you describe in your note ;-) Well captured!
