Photographer's Note

This is my last post before going to Costa Rica on Friday.

We were nearing the end of our circular walk which started and ended in Whitby Abbey Car Park. We walked along the cliffs and then inland via Hawsker and Ruswarp eventually returning to Whitby. I took several shots around the harbour area and have two to choose from. I chose this in the end and the other is in the WS
These lobster pots were stacked quite high and I thought they made an interesting image with the flags on top. The fishermen take the pots out to sea and leave them marked by the flags. When they return they hope they are full of lobsters and crabs. You must buy a dressed crab if you visit Whitby. The red buildings are those that were reflected in the harbour in my previous post. In the background on the cliff top is the 12th century St. Mary’s church. Out of sight to the right is where the abbey is.
The walk finished after climbing the 199 steps back to the abbey.
