Photographer's Note

This is another view of the fall colors in the aspens above Sundance Utah, behind Mount Timpanogos.

It was in the early morning, the sun was just coming up, and I could hear the bull elk bugling to each other across the mountain valleys behind me. The day was slightly overcast and the dew was rather heavy. The absolute stillness of the morning was overwhelming. It was almost a sin to leave this wonderful environment and go to work.

Taken with f/22 for maximum depth at the widest focal length I could get (I could have used the 10mm-20mm). I metered off of the aspens and placed them at zone 6 to keep lots of detail in the white part of the aspens. I also used a didymium filter to boost the reds in the ferns slightly. The 190k image here doesn't really do it justice.
