Photographer's Note
Praia negra ("dark beach") is a small fishermen village next to Paraty. People are discovering it a place to go on the holidays, and, year by year, the number of visitors is increasing. The name refers to the shipwrecks that occur because of the rocks, as the one on the left side of the picture.
Making this photograph was interesting. A man have asked the other to jump into the water, so he could photograph. When a friend of mine (the one photographing in the picture) saw it, he ran over the sand to make the same picture. The first man gave up. I was a little lazy, so I just changed to the 200mm lens and waited. Luckily, I got the picture on the moment the man was upside down.
Do you know what's funny? Nobody else got a good picture of the flying man. This is a shame to Robert Capa's statement: "if the picture is not good enough, that's because you weren't close enough". Not always.
