Photographer's Note

I found this to be a nice natural still life with backlit growth and the texture in the sun against the golden backdrop of fall aspen leaves.

I hope this provides the viewer with the warmth of beautiful fall day, and the tentativeness of knowing winter is close by. It was one last time for these guys to bask in the sunlight.

I chose f8 to give me enough DOF to cover the foreground, but to leave things non-descript in the background.

I didn't use a tripod because the light was moving so fast, so I just cranked up the ISO, and found 1/640th enough to not show camera movement. Exposure was placed to keep the backlight non-detailed on the fringed foreground items, and balanced to keep rich saturation in the trees. Saturation has not been enhanced.
