Photographer's Note
A beautifull day's hike in the Cirque de Gavarnie included an unplanned crossing of a cold creek, because of the path's bridge having been wiped out by strong meltwater currents the previous spring. For those interested, note the folds in the strata in the cliff face in the middle of the image. The formation of the Pyrennee mountain chain included much shortening of the earth's crust (caused by tectonic plate movements). This shortening is either expressed as shallow faults of folds of the type observed here.

Hi Richard,
great shot, lots of depth and colour. Well composed. Love the differing colours in the rocks in the fg.

Bonjour Richard,
Bonne journee,
Jean-Yves
