Photographer's Note
Denton Jazz fest: 5
these guys were just sitting and taking in all of the people here at the jazz fest. They parked their RV here and sat for a couple of days watching people.
I liked the framing here. I tried to get people on either side and the pole between them to have two frames in one. i hoped to highlight their independent actions yet a unity. I don't know if it worked or not but I kind of like it.

Hi Brady, I think your vision works a treat. The pole beautifully divides two people physically together but emotionally apart. Technically it could be improved but as a photo telling a story - which is what TE is all about - it's spot on. Stephen

Hi Brady, this is really a great candid capture! I love their expressions, caught up in finishing a meal! I agree with you, very well done of the composition, putting the couple on either side of the pole. Great b&w tones too. Excellent job! TFS, Sam

Hi Brady. The idea two separate the twos is really excellent. It underlines the routine of the couple. The can’t stand separated, but when they stand together they have different centers of interest and few communication. Well done. Christophe

Hi brady,
All is already written. Your shot shows so many things! TFS. JG.

Ah! Brady... you have a great eye to capture this snaps from people while they are absorbed in their own world... an art by itself. Well done!

You have several elements here, Brady, that could make a very good composition. You have the essentials here. Very good vision. The part of the man on the right is a very good element, but here it is too little...I would liked to have a "full" half of him for a good impact. Then the main subjects: your low angle of view, at the eye level of the two, is just right. But I would like to have a bit more going on there. Say, both looking to the right, or both of their eyes clearly visible. I think one problem is that because of the low light you hand might have rock the camera a bit, hence a slight softness. Or perhaps you used a noise reduction software that has given it a bit more smooth appearance than I would normally expect from such a view. Others might like it, but I would prefer a bit more grit...just my personal preference.

Animesh

You certainly got the independent part of the shot. The framing of the people on the left and the right was a great idea it really balances the shot. The post down the middle is possibly telling of their relationship.
Technically the photo appears to be a little grey. If you look specifically at the man’s face and the woman’s hair there is very little value change. I honestly don't know how to change that but I have looked at it two days in a row and have thought the same thing both times.

Hi Brady,
Very nice B&W shot. Love the expressions of these Texans. Nice division of frame with pole and good choice of tight framing. Good little documentary.
Cheers,

I thought I had commented on this one...it tells the story you wanted to.
Fro the thumbnail, it seems that they are on a train (or something)...I love the feeling of disconnection between them...this is the most powerful part of your photo..
