Photographer's Note

I did this photo in a very cold morning in Ambelokipi, a neighborhood in Athens. The Church is dedicated to St. Demetrius.
I dedicate this picture to all the citizens of this neighborhood for personal reasons.
The image has been cut and I have used a filter sepia to 50%.

The Holy Spirit is often depicted as a dove, based on the account of the Holy Spirit descending on Jesus in the form of a dove when He was baptized in the Jordan. In many paintings of the Annunciation, the Holy Spirit is shown in the form of a dove whispering into Mary's ear.

The dove also parallels to the one which brought the branch of olive tree to Noah after the cataclysm (also a symbol of peace), and the Rabbinic traditions according to which doves above the water signify the presence of God.
