Photographer's Note
After seeing the critiques on this photo, I decided to re-post it. I took the advice from Martin about cropping it to a square format to remove the distracting tree in the foreground.
I think that this version is much more effective. Thanks for all the critiques!

You did well with the croping of this version Pameal. A much improved version of the origional. The colours of the bird are really nice and the background works really well.

Indeed, I prefer this one. This parrot is very well framed now and the DOF is excellent. Well done!

I didn't see the original post so can't comment on the change. The head is good & sharp but I would have preferred more DOF to keep the entire bird sharp. Nice overall composition.
