Photographer's Note

Walking recently along the quay on the northeastern part of Stockholm's Old Town I found a kind of temporary playground. This is across the street from the Royal Palace, which is just a large house with large rooms. Most children will find climbing artificial "trees" or running inside a treadwheel much more fun.

I admit I didn't stay here long enough to see how fast the boy could run, but his mother looked slightly worried that he would slip and fall. And I was slightly worried he would stop before I had time to take a picture.

The adventurous girl outside the wheel was probably some other mother's daughter.

Across the water, which is a narrow bay of the Baltic Sea, is a small island called Skeppsholmen (Ships Islet). The yellow building is the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities (Östasiatiska museet), one of several museums on the island that used to be a property of the navy.

In the WS is the view when I turned left.
