Photographer's Note

Bridge over Nam Song river...

That's a very basic man-made rickety bamboo bridge supported by triangular frames and just a novel way to cross the river. Looks a little fragile giving cracking noises when you walk it but it's as sturdy as anything and strong enough to withstand the river currents. It's very interesting connection between both sides which really makes a fascinating walking experience. To me, it's a good introduction to local life and but there is more behind it.

It is not the only bridge of that type in Laos but if you think about it, it gives you a hint on how the locals solve some of the daily life problems. On the other hand, it shows the structural characteristics of bamboo that some people find hard to believe and on the other side you can find some local life too.

Watching this in the late afternoon against the backdrop, make a good serene picture at least in my mind!
