Photographer's Note
Khachkar on the hill in Sevan.
A khachkar, also known as an Armenian cross-stone is a carved, memorial stele bearing a cross, and often with additional motifs such as rosettes, interlaces, and botanical motifs. Khachkars are characteristic of Medieval Christian Armenian art.
Since 2010, khachkars, their symbolism and craftsmanship are inscribed in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Among more than 50,000 Khachkars in Armenia, each has its own pattern, and no two are alike.

Bonjour, cher Piotr,
Le sujet est intéressant, et dire que certaines sculptures remontent au IXe et au XIIe siècle.
Voir cela de nos jours est formidable !
Amitiés.

Hello Piotr,
These khachkars were seen in a nice environment with trees and flowers surrounding them. They look like they were in a fire. I wonder what happened. It's an interesting photo, well taken and technically good.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Piotr,
Good sight of the monuments with the surrounding white flowrrs and other vegetation. Orange painted stones, with some black marks looks strange, still you managed to show a fine picture of those.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Piotr,
This khachkar has similar motifs to the previous one, although maybe, not quite so elegant.
But, this one has a story to tell, if only that were possible! This khachkar has been shattered and appears to have also been burned. I wonder how this happened!
This example is in a quieter more scenic location.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Olá Piotr,
interessante mesmo essas antigas cruzes em pedra, uma pena estarem tão mal cuidadas. Belo registro.
Parabéns e Abraço,

Piotr, the stone is carved like lace. Botanical patterns and the Armenian cross are represented. That stele is found on a hill. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Piotr,
A great shot of the ancient work of art, whose fine details look still amazing. Especially the red parts are great and stand out well from the backdrop. You also chose a good compostition and angle of shooting.

Hi Piotr,
The trees are framing well the Khachkar. The point of view is showing the details of the Armenian cross-stone. It is clear and sharp. Have a nice day.
