The weather in England is back to normal and so I am back to my photo archives.

During my visit to Yosemite National Park I slept in a tent on various campgrounds. I remember when I arrived in Yosemite Valley Campground, I asked the ranger at the entrance a question: “Is it true that bears are breaking into cars so often here?” I hoped it was just a myth. The ranger answered: “Yes last night we had seven break ins.” That didn’t calm me down, ha, ha. The campground provided special cupboards made of strong metal and with complicated lock, which was to difficult for bears to open. All items which had a smell, not only food but also a toothpaste, etc. needed to be deposited there for the night. Leaving them in the car meant the bear could smell it and it could easily “take off” the roof of the car to reach it. I have heard a story of a lady who washed her face with a cosmetic having a nice smell before going to sleep. A bear smashed her face reaching into the tent, looking for the food. I could not fall asleep. In the middle of the night I heard some loud distant screams shouting: “Get away from here!”. Later on, I finally heard a noise made by a bear. It came to our campground spot. I watched it through the little window in the tent. Huge dark shade went straight to the metal cupboard. It tried to open it but without the luck. It was not interested in our tent or car. It went on to the next spots… After it left, I could finally sleep, although I got a bit nervous at the breakfast again…

In this photo you see two major cascades of the Yosemite Falls. The falls drop a total of 739 m from the top of the upper fall to the base of the lower fall.

Hello Mariusz,
A great photo of the falls! So beautiful to see the narrow stream of water tumble down the majestic cliffs. The trees make a wonderful green frame. We were there two years ago in the morning and the light came from the wrong angle, so I couldn't really take any good photos of the falls.

Piekne kaskady, te wodospady naleza do najwyzszych, ale to zalezy, czy mierzone sa wszystkie stopnie kaskad, czy tylko stopien glowny, ale trzeba pzryznac, ze robia wrazenie

You have given me all the reasons not to camp at Yosemite - then again, I am not a camper, I wouldn't even camp in my backyard! You have also given me all the reason to go and see yosemite for myself. This is a beautiful view. 👍🏻👍🏻

Hello Mariusz,

Like you, I would have had little sleep in a tent, with bears on the prowl!
What a pity you didn't get a shot of the bear's shadow outside the tent! That would have been eerie!

However, this is the sort of shot you expect to obtain in a National Park!
Your composition has ensured a good sense of depth as well as clearly defining the height of this cascading waterfall. The two sections of it are quite different, the upper part, possibly hitting rocks along the downfall and causing it to spray. The second part is very much more confined, an undisturbed flow, a little like turning on a tap.
The light is good and the textural details very well captured.

Mariusz, these waterfalls are an unmissable attraction of Yosemite park. It is a high waterfall located in a pine forest area. The bears are opportunist, it s easier for them to reach the campers food instead of hunting or doing efforts to collect fruit. Fine colors, good sharpness, absorbing photo note, regards.
