Photographer's Note
This is known as a "pothole". It has been carved out of the limestone, through time, by the force of rushing water, carrying sand and rock. This example, frankly, is the first I have ever seen. It is located near the start of a walk at the Falls and it affords an occasion for the visitor to pause, reflecting on the impact of nature on the environment.
