A bicycle trip around Damme 6km from Bruges
The center of Damme has been a new attraction since a few days. According to annual custom, storks form part of the decor during the spring.
But I could photograph the four on a lawn where the farmers were baling the hay on
Two couples of storks have settled in Church street “Kerkstraat in Dutch”.
The storks are faithful to post at their beloved site at the retirement home. There are currently no residents on the roof of the town hall. However, the city council had the fireplace converted so that storks can nest there quietly without causing nuisance. The graceful birds have sunk earlier this year than usual due to the mild weather.
I hope that you enjoy it

Hi John,
The presence of the stork is adding life to the scene. The length of the field is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the bails of hay. Have a nice day.

Hallo John,

Hello John,
This scene has lot of interesting details. Of course it's nice to see the storks. We never see this bird here in NYC. The symmetry is attractive, with the tractor in the middle, and covered bales of hay always remind me of giant marshmallows. :-)

Bonjour, cher ami John,

I take plenty of hay harvest photos too John.
This is good because you've managed to get the tractor as well.

Hello John, I know Damme :). We can see the trees along the canal in the background. Nice view of these storks. The follow the tractor as they can find something to eat there. The storks do not eat so many frogs as we usually think of. Fabulous composition.
Kind regards Malgo

Hello John,
What a joy to find so many storks in the field. The round bales of hay are very attractive eye-catchers on their own, and they also help to create good depth, but with the addition of several magnificent storks this becomes a truly beautiful scenery. Technically this is as always a first class photo with lovely colours.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi John,
This just shows how different the climate of Belgium is compared to Finland. Hay baling in mid May sounds so early to me. Very good angle showing the line of hay in good perspective. I just wish those storks were closer.

Hello John, the storks are searching insects in the lawn. They arrived earlier because the climate is warmer this year. Good idea from the municipality to protect them. The tractor is going to bale the hay on. Beautiful hedge made of big trees seen in the bg. Good pov

Hello John,
It looks as if the baling is early this year, too.
The tractor and the bales of hay tell a story in the golden coloured field, whilst the green hedge creates a very effective, well placed, separation line.
It's a beautifully composed photograph of the natural cycle of spring in the countryside.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi John
Nice repetition of the rolled haybales, and the opportunistic storks were quick to search for any tasty morsels unearthed by the tractor. Tfs!

Storks always visit freshly cut fields, it is easy to find food there. A beautiful photo, very good observation of the spring activity of these birds

Hi dear John
I am now a little surprised that this tasty seasonal event ha already started, even though it is still in the middle of May? Anyway I like this type image so much, and I am very happy to see earlyer than my expectation, hahaha. Panfocus apprach makes so ideal outcome as such.
All the best and have a good Sunday! Takero

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello John, it is interesting to read about the arrival of the storks; we don’t have storks in the UK, so I can’t imagine seeing them when I go out and about.
A lovely view across the field with the cylindrical bales, the tractor busy at work, and the storks.
Beautiful light and excellent sharpness.
Regards Jean.

Hi John.
A beautiful image with these fields with the harvest already collected, good perspective of the traactor who leaves the line to pack in those large curls that we see and that give a nice atmosphere in the field, ideal line of trees as a background.
A nice photo, with natural colors, good lighting and sharpness.
Well done.
Enjoy, Sunday.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello John,
This is a pretty shot of the fields. Are they bales of hay covered in canvas?
