Photographer's Note

The busy town of Taormina, Sicily's most famous tourist resort.
This was a favourite stop for those on the Grand Tour and the preferred summer residence of aristocrats and bankers, from Wilhelm II of Germany to the Rothschilds.

"In its time the town has been Siculan, Greek and Roman, but its medieval layout give it today's look."

Architectural features such as this stone archway remain as a reminder of its earlier history.

I was looking through my files and found this shot which I had forgotten about. On closer inspection I looked more carefully at the details and spotted two charming plant pots, top left corner, with faces as their decoration! Constantly looking down on the busy scene below!
