Mt Sorapiss, a photo from Belluno, Veneto

Photographer's Note

The summit of Mt Sorapiss (3205 m) in the Dolomites, lit by the afternoon sun. This mountain rises above the town of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The photo was taken from Col Druscie, a few kilometres NW of the town. Cortina is surrounded by beautiful mountains like this.

una foto molto ben fatta di una delle montagne che circondano la bella città di Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Eccellente la composizione frutto di una inquadratura ed un taglio appropriati per valorizzare la bella montagna nella quale roccia e neve creano colori incantevoli.
A mio parere anche bello il cielo che nel suo grigiore dà un'idea più appropriata dell'asprezza della montagna.
Bravissimo.

Beautiful mountain views of the Dolomites mountains and portrait Sorapis. Beautiful mountain shown in a good light. Vertical walls are impressive.

Howdy Vince,

Your view of craggy Mt. Sorapiss, would be at home in our Eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range, for the granitic geology, snow fields and lack of trees.
I am also attracted to the variety of lighting, dark shadows and fine resolution.
