after yesterdays overview over the length of the mighty Aletsch glacier, we can see here the upper part from where the glacier origins. We can clearly see here that the dark lines in the glacier where formed trough three different glaciers that meet upstreams to form the Aletsch. Each of those three individual glaciers carry with them a pile of ruble witch then form those dark lines. The mountains upstream are actually the famous three stars Eiger (to the right), Mönch (center) and Jungrau (just to the left outside the frame).
Hikers have left their mark by building these stone monuments.
