Photographer's Note

I stepped into the courtyard of the mosque, and this is the view straight ahead, to the west. There is a single dome over the liwan. The pool (wazu) in the centre of the courtyard is large. I believe it was devoid of water so that was not the main attraction for the pigeons. I forgot to mention that the name of mosque means "Best of Houses". A few faithful continue to come for prayers, although there is no resident imam.
