Photographer's Note
Walking along the Devil's Garden Trail in Arches National Park, there are numerous arches to see and explore. This particular arch is called Pine Tree Arch. Luckily there was another hiker standing underneath the arch as I took the picture. One can get a feel for the enormous size of this natural sandstone arch. It was a stormy day as one can see the gray sky through the archway.

Hello Karen,
You have been chronicling the beauties of the rugged West, and a number of genuinely beautiful works "hang" in your growing gallery. I like the way you have framed the rocks and the dark sky in the distance with the opening in rocks. When shafts of light illuminate subjects selectively against dark foreboding skies, you really do get wonderful images. One of my favorites is a scanned 36 year old Kodak-25 slide, showing the Parthenon.
Warm regards,
Bulent

HI Karen!
This is one amazing arch! I agree with Dennis, the lighting is surreal which creates this unusual glow on the rocks giving you vibrant and naturally saturated colors. It's just fantastic! Great capture!
Cheers!

hi Karen again
Wandering in your gallery, I find this picture remarkable by its composition, by the light and the bold and contrasted colors you got. The walking persons give the scale of this giant arch.
Greetings

Hello Karen,
This trail must be a stunning place! I like your composition and the inclusion of the hiker to give us a sense of size of those rocks. Very lucky to have the stormy clouds as a background, it creates a great contrast with the colour of the rocks. TFS this beautiful scenery.
Best wishes,
Izabela

Hi Karen,
so far I have not yet managed to me to see this area, but someday I'll do that, I swear.
A landscape with great details and a photographer, who has perfectly captured this! Very well done!
With kind regards from Sweden

Amazing photo. i love colors, shapes and mood of it. That person fits perfectly. Looks like he is part of nature and shows true size of structures.
Coming storm adds some dramatic mood. Stuning landscape.
Thank you for sharing.
