I my attempt to bring you some everyday Albanian foods I present you "The Youghurt"! Albanian say that youghurt is good when you need a knife to cut it with! As most of the milk is pasterised at home most of youghurt in Albania is also made at home. It is very simple and it cost probably 1/100 the the price you pay in the Western Supermarkets.

Youghurt is eaten for breakfast, as a accompanying side dish, as main ingredient for various sauces. Also when thinned out with water it becomes drinkable. Drinkable youghurt (dhalle) is a very common refreshing drink in Albania. I do not have any statistics but I think that there is more dhalle than coca drank in Albania.
