Photographer's Note
I already posted two pictures I shot here - I remember I liked this place because of its simple and straightforward architecture, a wide space delimited by a (seemingly) lightweight construction set against the Lisbon sky...
the building you see in the picture is one of the most famous projects of Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza Vieira - it was the Portuguese pavillion to the 1998 Expo exhibition which took place in Lisbon.
(the title is for once not a reference to a movie but to a song - my favourite Joy Division's track)

Hi Cristina
I like the way you play with the shadows! Very good photographic equilibrium, lots of grey hues, mainly on the cobblestones of the pavements, and the marvelous silhouettes against the cloudy sky.
Congrat!

Prima. Gruß, Wolfgang.

Atmosphere of sci-fi movie achieved.
Superb B&W tones - as usual - as your fingerprint.

Hi Cristina.
Wonderful shot, well chosen for a b/w conversion - yes, it is reminiscent of a Joy Division song, with its suggestion of bleakness and the grouping of the men. Great balance in your panoramic crop, and a lovely light against which the figures are set and which gleams on the tiles of the open space in front of the pavilion building. Superb work.

Andrew

Ciao Cristina
I like the 2 different parts of this shot, the building to the right which contrasts a lot with the highlight part on the left with the 5 silhouettes
Excellent b&w treatment
have a nice day

Hi Cristina,
I love the depth and light that B&W gives these long shots. I have posted a couple recently attempting this. This is excellent, a simple play on shapes, a scene and a mysterious story, told by lightm shadows m shapes and contrast. Great work.

Justin

Hi Cristina,
I got the Joy Division mood/reference even before reading your note! Great atmosphere, great stillness. Quality work.

Ah...uomini, mia cara!
Ah! Gli uomini: vil razza dannata!

An amazing frame cris, no wonder it has bagged two favs, the balance with the forms, i could tell who is the more talkative one. again the areas of light and dark do it for you. but why would you stick with a 5.6 when the main element and interest in the composition lies fifty feet away ? - think a smaller aperture could have worked more in favour of the outcome and intent of the composition. but who cares, so long as i am happy with this shot..who cares..
i will take it

Ciao Cris,
Brava!

Dear Cristina,
Sorry for my lack of comments on your deliberately developing gallery. Be sure that i checked them all and admiring most of them and sometimes being even dazzled by their beauty. Your style has significantly changed (it had already changed a bit before meeting you), but your recent daily posts are making me wonder how you are able to make such a lot of "good" photos. Anyway, i find your pp style so fitting to my taste, and each of your photos are worth saying more things than an average TE photo deserves. This is actually why i write so little. It is a pity that your gallery evolved into something big, just on the time that i am so rarely on TE. And the best thing is that, you always try different subjects, never sticking to a so called "style".
Best wishes,
Deniz
