Not many times in my life I had this feeling that is not allowed to shot a place, a scene a person
In that day in Istanbul I took 2 pics of this group, one clear and one so much OOF
But I choose to this one, because one woman from the group was observing me and somehow only with one glance she told me do not shoot anymore ....

Hi Isabela!

This blur is perfect, because it fits very well with the sensation to be in front of ghosts. Very minimalist with almost no other color than black and white and no other elements or persons in the perspective. The composition is well balanced.

Impressive scene. Beautifully composed.
Like it being blurred (out of focus ?) - being as an homage to their denial to be photographed.

let me tell you: the OOF is infinitely better than the focus one. from an expert ;-))) seriously, think about it, the situation, the mystery, the mentality ... OOF approach fits perfectly. Frankly, this is one of the best you submitted from your Turkey trip :-) It pays off to be daring and creative.

I can only agree with Cristian. I think I would have gone for a straight b/w but anyway this is great ! Wonderful detail of the hand in all that black. The OOF speaks worlds...Special and touchy subject, to be absurd and closed world. I am impressed. This was a hidden treasure on your hard disk...My compliments.

Hi Isabela,

I recognize the feeling. Every time I want to make a picture of some people in a public situation I feel a certain embarrassment, but I’m sure I couldn’t resist the appeal of this situation. The misty focus in the picture accentuate the doubtful plot of the scene. And all in perfect Black and White.

Who are they ? I don't know . But I only know they brain are don't work any time .
I hate this kind of wear.
we stopped this with educated people as soon as possible.
they are not a standard Turkish women.

.....and it's the OOF - what a funny expression - which makes this photo for me - well, that and the composition!!. :-)

It's surprising just how interesting a few black shapes on a grey background can be.
