The International Street Theatre Festival in Jelenia Gora is one of the oldest festivals of its kind in Poland. It was established in 1982, and since its inauguration has hosted a great number of foreign troupes. Many Polish fringe theatres began their professional careers at the festival, learning their art from foreign guests: Odin Teatret from Denmark, Compagne Jo Bithume, Plasticiens Volants and Collectif Organum from France, or the legendary Living Theater from the United States.

Międzynarodowy Festiwal Teatrów Ulicznych w Jeleniej Górze to jeden z najstarszych festiwali tego typu w Polsce. Od założenia, czyli 1982 roku, gościł wiele zagranicznych grup teatralnych. Wiele polskich teatrów rozpoczynało swoją karierę zawodową na tym festiwalu czerpiąc naukę sztuki teatralnej od takich wielkich zagranicznych gości jak: Odin Teatret z Danii, Compagne Jo Bithume, Plasticiens Volants i Collectif Organum z Francji, czy legendarny Living Theater z USA.
