Photographer's Note

This picture was taken during the peak of he wet season. All of the Orinoco River tributaries flood the llanos.

This picture was taken after a three day storm. Once it stopped during the late afternoon of the third day, we managed to take a flat bottom boat to navigate the flooded plains looking for wildlife.

It was an unusual cold light for a llanos sunset! However, as it looked so gray all of as were impressed in how the sky and the water merged as one in a mirror image.
