Photographer's Note

I took this picture in La Merced. This is a Tropical kingbird (Tyrannus melancholicus). Colombia has 1847 confirmed species of birds, of which 80 are endemic, three have been introduced by humans, and 61 are rare or vagrants. One of the endemic species is believed to be extinct. We can see some of them in the cities.

Hello Sergio,
A well realised minimalist composition with a very appropriate title. The beautiful little bird is well positioned and is set off nicely against the pastel blue sky. The wire netting contributes a good dose of graphism.

I love the refined simplicity of this photo. The bird is so beautiful and the black lines of the wire netting gives the composition a graphically elegant structure. The light blue sky provides a perfect background.

Bonjour Sergio,

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. En premier lieu, on pense voir un gratte ciel avec ses multiples fenêtres et plus tard on se rend compte que c'est une haute clôture qui n'empêchera pas l'oiseau de s'envoler.

Hello Sergio,

I cannot imagine where this squared netting is situated but really, it matters not, for the interest is firmly upon the bird, taking pride of place amid the squares.
Its longish beak suggests that it may be some kind of fly catcher.
You did a fine job of noticing this and photographing it with such finesse.

creo que sea un pájaro que acá llamamos de sebinho, al menos es semejante aquel que tenemos acá en la plaza y miro muchas veces.

He leído que Colombia es el único país que tiene más especies de aves que Brasil. En mis últimas vacaciones tuve mi primera gran experiencia en fotografiar pájaros, en el Pantanal de Mato Grosso, pronto las voy a publicar en TE. La imagen es muy interesante con la gradería creando un bonito efecto visual y el destaque en el pequeño pájaro amarillo. Excelente trabajo!
