Photographer's Note
This is El Tatio Gaysers, as described before, is the highest geyser field in the world at more than 4,200mts of altitude.
This photo shows an old geothermal machine laying in the middle of the filed. In the WS I show a detail of that device. By the time we were in San Pedro de Atacama, many local residents hoisted black flags in protest for the plan to install a new geothermal plant in the area, which, they claim, will destroy the geysers as tourist attraction. I have not followed up this news in details, so I do not know more details about this matter.

Hi Jorge,
At that altitude the light is extreme hard, but you did a very good job here to present it in reich and deep colours without taking too much contrast in it. Strong shot on the compo, but also interesting on the note which tells us what's going on here.....a good one.
Take care,
Henk

Hi Jorge,
Fantastic contrasts in this photo. I love the way the colours vary from the unusual rocks in the foreground, through to the reddish mound and the blue sky in the background. I also really like the contrast between the rugged natural landscape and the machinery.
Thanks for sharing,
Stephen.

Hello Jorge -
You have done an excellent job of light management balancing the shadows and extremely bright light. At the altitude you were shooting the polarizer extremely evident and a softer touch is needed. Great note to let us know what is going on. Well done!
Thank you for sharing.

Hola Jorge,
Elegiste bien el formato vertical, esto hace que la imagen tenga más profundidad gracias al agua del primer plano, también equilibraste correctamente la diferencia entre la zona de sombra y Sol, excelente definición y un buen resultado final.

Hello Jorge,
fantastic management of light, especially of the contrast between light and shadows, well composed...it seems to be such a strange place, like from the future or different planet...
Take care, Ivana

Hola Jorge
Mmmh I've been to El Tatio but don't remember this machine... maybe I was too caught by the beauty and spectacular dimension of the place not to notice anything man made !
Nice image of the devil's kitchen under the legendary blue of these elevations
Have a nice day JY

hi Jorge
Very nice!
Your filter effect works very well for this capture of the blue sky and the impressive view of geyser.
Very good choice of showing the FG crystal clear water in vertical format. Nice dof.
I like what little space you give to the sky, it works well.

HI Jorge, como esta? I love the sharpness and "alienating" feeling of that geothermal plant structure. An interesting landscape also with those hydrothermal steams and is that something yellowish at the bottom of the water...probably sulfur minerals?....Interesting also that people are very much concerned at protecting the place as a tourist attraction in place of tapping renewable energy during these oil-driven economic recession...the same concerns in Palawan regarding attaining some level of sustainable tourism. Best regads, Alex

Amazing shot - i love the blue shades throughout and that clear water. The smoke in that part of the frame also adds to it.

Hola Jorge.
Saludos.
Luis.

hi Jorge,
I risk to cause your wrath, but I have to say that for me El Tatio was a disappointment :) may be because I couldn't see a good photo there. I do like your photo though, the combination of rusty-looking machinery and parched soil looks like something from "Mad Max" movies :)
best,
Kristine

Hola Jorge,
The steam clouds are added great value to your all over well taken photo with splendid effect of sky and brownish hill. Your choice of vertical frame is skillful with great addition of pond and reflections on it. Clear capture and impressive sharpness as same also in your complementary post. Congratulations.

Hola Jorge!
Felicidades!
Un saludo,

Dag Jorge,
Great picture with some unexpected element. One could thing that the old geothermal machine is producing all the smoke in this amazing landscape.

Hi Jorge
Similar to Kristine, I do not have any pleasant memories of this place but given my recollection you sure have managed to find a good POV.

Hi Jorge,
Your picture of this geyser field is impressive. The reflection boosts DOF and makes it look bigger. I like the action shot a lot. Colors and contrasts are find as also the sharpness is. Your note is well written and informative. Well done
