Photographer's Note

Estátua feita em homenagem a José Patrício, um heremita que vivia na Serra do Cipó e tem sua vida marcada por histórias, lendas e gentileza. Faleceu em 1983.

A estátua foi contruída em 1987 pela artista plástica Virgínia Ferreira, encomendada pelos prefeitos de Morro do Pilar e Conceição do Mato Dentro, porém se localiza no município de Santana do Riacho.

Hello Lucas,
The path in the foreground forms an excellent lead-in line to the large sculpture sitting in the middle of the landscape. The hills and the clouds in the pale blue sky make a great backdrop. Good vertical composition too.

Lepo pokazano mesto i skulptura, dobra perspektiva i kontrast, lepe boje, lepo uhvacen trenutak sa oblacima koji dolaze. Lepa kamena staza i skulptura, lepa priroda.

Whoever posted this beautiful statue had a nice idea, attractive and superbly fits to the scene, Lucas.
Also, the picture was well taken, placed the main subject off-center, allow the shallow slope and mountains as a frame on the far side.

This is a lovely tribute in a beautiful setting. I like how the stone path leads us to the statue. He seems very content sitting in this spot. The hills in the distance are also very nice.

Então é aí que fica este famoso personagem? E eu já li que era proibido fotografá-lo, vê se pode? Ficou legal este caminho que conduz até a bela escultura com as montanhas de Minas ao fundo. Um dia espero visitar este lugar. Beleza de foto!

Hello Lucas,
It's a magnificent tribute to the hermit and a very well composed photo. My eyes are immediately drawn along the curving road up to the statue, and there is a fine view of the distant hills. The photo is well balanced and excellently exposed with very attractive colours.

its just my personal preference, but I like the vertical presentation, but probably with a bit of the top portion cut off. what an excellent subject, so different. I don't think i've ever seen a statue like this at the end of a stone walk way. and in the middle of nature. cool post for TE. cheers

Muy bonita esta estatua del ermitaño en el paisaje de montañas ! Parece un hombre bueno y pacifico ! Me gusta tambien la perspectiva, con el camino de piedras que nos conduce hace la estatua. Excelente composiciòn con el paisaje selvaje y el cielo magnifico detràs.

Porqué la escultura se llama "Junquinha" ? Que significa la palabra ?

It looks a bit as a Jedi master from Star Wars.

interesante composición aquí, en la que la estatua del ermitaño parece estar mirando a la cámara, mientras las curvas del sendero llevan nuestra mirada hacia un bello paisaje de praderas y montañas, bajo un cielo muy hermoso
