ARA CHLOROPTERUS, a photo from Mato Grosso do Sul, Center-West

Photographer's Note

Walking around the big hole (a doline) there is a native vegetation called CERRADO (Brazilian savana), there are lots of especies, typical from this kind of vegetation. Here we can see a red macaw (ara chloropterus). The managers of this private natural park put a carved small trunk in the top of a tree and used it like a water reservoir to the macaws, this way tourists can see them closer. These animals are free and savage.

Caminhando ao redor do grande buraco (uma dolina) há a vegetação típica do CERRADO, com muitas espécies típicas deste bioma. Vemos aqui uma arara vermelha (ara chloropterus). Os administradores deste parque natural privado instalaram um pedaço de tronco escavado no alto de uma árvore, assim as araras tem um reservatório de água mais fácil e os turistas conseguem fotografá-las de perto. Your parrots is more beautiful than the Derdara parrot we have in Israel, more colorfull and looks bigger.

Hello Jorge,

We see alone this type Ara in the Zoo and not in the forest.
Lovely plumage with the red and blue/green feathers

Olá Jorge,
realmente conseguiu fotografar um belo exemplar aqui, com cores bem chamativa. A luz mais suave e filtrado ficou ótima também, evitando aqueles "apagões" que as sombras costumam causar em dias de sol forte.

Olá Jorge, que 'retrato' fantástico. Não esperava uma tal aproximação depois do zoom no máximo na anterior. Excelentes detalhes e cores, percebe-se bem as diferentes texturas desta envolvente. Linda arara, com um aspecto super saudável.
Esta semana choveu e arrefeceu invulgarmente para esta altura do ano, mas hoje espera-se a recuperação do bom tempo.
