Photographer's Note

This photo was taken at the Flamengo Park in front of the Restaurant Porcão Rios.
Shoot the Moon is something that always fascinated me, where can I point my camera at her and then do a click to contemplate its beauty and magic.

March 19, 2011, will experience the phenomenon known as "Super Moons, " where the moon reaches the closest point to Earth, being about 221,557 miles, 14% higher and 30% brighter. The best time to view this show is just after sunset for at 18h of 19.3 days when the moon rise over the horizon to the east and the sun has gone down to the west.

The last "Supermoon" was in 1992. Major changes in climate are weather-related event (approach) of "SuperMoons" such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Strangely the aproximção this new "Supermoon" coincides with the tragedy in Sendai Japan, although earthquakes are not weather phenomena.

The latest "SuperMoons" occurred in 1992, 1974 and 1955 when records began to approach the moon relative to Earth.
