Photographer's Note

The building of the old Railway Station of Bagé was inaugurated in 2 of December of 1884, when also was inaugurated the line Bagé – Rio Grande. The Telegraphic Station of the Railroad, inaugurated an a short while before, functioned in the same building. In 1874 it was signed a contract for the construction of the Railroad Rio Grande – Alegrete, passing for Bagé. In 2 of December of 1884 was inaugurated the line Rio Grande – Bagé; in 1897 was the time of the stretch Bagé – Sao Sebastião; and in 1900 completed itself the road Bagé – Cacequi. In 1924 the building was destroyed by a fire. In the same year the new building began it to be built, functioning like Railway Station to more of the half of the century XX. In the decade of 70, the tracks left of the center of the city and the station was for Santa Thereza. Was deed an exchange with the Iron Viaduct and began it function in the building the Administrative Center of Bagé (1980).
