Blue Lake’s cave is located around 20 km far from Bonito city. There is a slope and a big gap that goes down in diagonal under the base of the mountain, the upper part of this gap is dry, surrounded by trees and big rocks, around 100 meters bellow this gap is covered with clear waters and during the morning the light of the sun beats on it creating a fabulous blue hue. The wall above these waters is covered with natural adornments like stalactites . It is told that the place has around 90 meters of profundity but nobody got to reach that area, some bones of ancient animals were discovered there. There is a theory saying these waters come from a subterranean river.
The cave was discovered by an Terena Indian in 1924 and stay open to vandals during many years, only the wall isolated by the deep waters got to preserve its stalactites. Nowadays this cave is one of the most important attractions of Bonito. If you want to know it visit this place do that only in the morning. This shot was took with a help of the guide, it was afternoon and the light was weak.

A caverna do Lago Azul está localizada a cerca de 20 km de Bonito. Há uma encosta e na base da mesma encontra-se uma fresta enorme que desce em diagonal, os 100 metros iniciais estão a seco, cercados de mata e de grandes rochas desabadas, lá embaixo encontra-se a parte inundada da gruta que, calcula-se, tenha mais de 90 metros de profundidade, mas que jamais foi pesquisada a fundo. Ali encontraram esqueletos de animais pré-históricos. Segundo alguns as águas vem de um rio subterrâneo. A gruta recebe a luz do sol da manhã e suas águas produzem um espetacular tom azul.
A gruta foi descoberta em 1924 por um índio terena e foi visitada e vandalizada durante anos, sendo que apenas as estalactites localizadas no paredão isolado pelas águas profundas escaparam dos vândalos. Atualmente a gruta é uma das maiores atrações de Bonito. A melhor hora para visitá-la é pela manhã, não faça como eu que fui lá à tarde e encontrei a luz já fraca. Por sorte o guia local me auxiliou a tirar boas fotos da caverna.

I like the framing you chose here, showing us in the corner the human figures, so small compared to the big big rocks. You well mastered the light, the result is excellent.

Amazing stalactites and a saphire lake beneath. The figures help to comprehend the true scale of this wonderful cave. Great shot.

Fantastico lugar y una maravillosa fotografia que por experiencia sé que no son nada faciles de realizar.
En este caso el resultado es magnifico, gran detalle de la profusion de estalactitas, maravilloso color del lago. Muy bonita imagen, buen trabajo.

I know it's not easy to take a good picture in a cave but you've succeeded in it.
Very beautiful with the different colours of the rocks and stones and thanks to the presence of the visitors we've a good idea about the size of the cave.

wonderful picture of this beautiful cave. I like the inclusion of the people to get a scale and your high POV. The natural adornments create a magical atmosphere and you have managed the weak light perfectly. I like it a lot. Bonito is one of my desired destinations in Brasil, that I still haven't visited so far. I hope we will see more pictures of this lovely area with incredible clear water.

Mesmo com a luz não sendo a que tu desejavas o resultado ficou muito bom. As pessoas dão uma boa dimensão do tamanho do lugar.

Olá Jorge, ando a perder muita fotos com as minhas ausências...a ver se esta semana consigo estar mais activo. Das 3 fotos desta caverna lindíssima, escolho esta por me parecer ser a que tem melhor qualidade de imagem e por mostrar a escala humana. A luz natural está bem capturada e os detalhes deste tecto são espectaculares. A cor da água é mais atraente nas outras duas fotos mas esta visão geral é fabulosa. Impressionante que possa haver ali 90m de profundidade de água.

A huge cave with fantastic blue water inside it, it looks like a mouth with jaws, the visitors on the back left side give a scale and I've an idea of how big is that geological attraction, all the best, regards
