TV TOWER, a photo from Distrito Federal, Center-West

Photographer's Note

This is the TV Tower, the highest structure of the town with 224 meters, inaugurated in 1967 in a high spot of the Big Axis.It was created by Lúcio Costa, the same architect who planned the town. In the base there is a museum of gems and few meters above there is a belvedere where you can see most of the city. Unfortunately I had no time to climb, there was a big line. I like the base of the tower, but not the metallic part.

Essa é a Torre de TV, a mais alta estrutura da cidade com 224 metros de altura, inaugurada em 1967 num dos pontos mais altos do Eixão. A torre foi criada por Lúcio Costa, o arquiteto que planejou a cidade. Na base da torre há um museu das gemas e mais acima um mirante de onde se vê boa parte da cidade. Infelizmente não tive tempo para subir, havia uma fila na porta. Eu pessoalmente gosto da base de concreto, mas não da parte metálica de cima.

Hello Jorge,
Despite the usual dominance of naked metal rods this TV tower looks nicer than most, thanks to the elegant structure at the base. You made sure to get the entire tower inside the frame. It's a well exposed photo and the sky is very nice.

You got a great blue sky with some nice small clouds as the background for this tall TV tower. Its structure is clearly seen against the sky and in this fine light.
