Seafront of Piha #, a photo from Auckland, North Island

Photographer's Note

Hello to my TE friends,
After my last posting on the whole view of Piha from the road that coming down to it, and now I am at the seafront of Piha that looking southward side of it with the Taitomo island and Nun Rock! a little bit of Lion Rock on the right! Many of you had asked why so few people or almost empty from our coast or beach from my shot, I think because I usually out there on the weekdays, most properly they will be plenty more during the weekend or long public holidays!

Fantastic POV Tony,

the river in the fg with its curve makes this composition really special and appealing. And another good effect is the light concentrated on the beach while the fg is in the shade. It makes the image more dynamic. Actually I've dome something similar which I havn't yet posted. The colours are very intense and create a lovely atmosphere. Well done again!

I also thought looking at your pictures of the coastlines of New Zealand that the country looked so empty and wondered if everybody there lived in the cities :)
The composition on this picture is very good and I specially like the curve in the cove of the sea (or in the river ending in the sea).

Hi Tony,
Everything is perfect here as the lovely blue ribbon tidal stream is so beautifully framed by lush green hills.
The lovely beach is drenched in brilliant light that brings out lovely swirling textures and the sky and sea are of clear crisp natural color.

A fine composition with a feeling of serenity about it. Great point of view with the curving river taking the viewer into the bay towards the giant rocks. The people dotted about the beach create a nice atmosphere. Good light and tones and very good sharpness.

Hello Tony, A long weekend it is for us also, it looks like it could be one of the last shots where we see people enjoying the sunshine at the beach, it looks like winter at the moment but in Melbourne who knows tomorrow could be summer again.
Another lovely scene you are showing us from across the Tasman, as always nice saturation of colour & excellent detail.

This is like a river flow, surely to the sea, something are meant to be, take my hand, take my whole life too...Oh wait, about this photo. Off course beautiful, with good POV and so inviting, with the fenced walkway lead us in to the sand and the beach beyond. Very beautiful light illuminating the rocks that stretches out to the sea. An another excellent phtowork. Here I like especially the very good composition with a FG rich in various details well collected and the cliff in the BG. The incurved "river" is a way for ou eyes to discovery the image. The peoples gives an interesting element of life and an idea of the scale of the place.

My friend Tony, as always your photos are accompanied by the most beautiful coastal scenery.

The depth of field leads us to look to the chain of mountains which are beautiful cliffs insurance. The penetration of the sea on the beach, a pleasant sensation. Excellent.

I love the delicate light and the POV in this shot. I'm no hater of humans, but in most cases I do prefer landscape pictures with no people on them. In this case though, people give a good sense of scaling of this magnificent place.

What is really amazing is the sharpness that allows all those tiny details to be seen, in a splendid farme. It must be a great place to swim as it is surrounded by the cliffs. Really nice indeed.

Hello Ho, you show us a beach that is totally unspoilt,it just has a natural beauty.
The PoV showing us the large rocky outcrops and looking to the horizon is perfect.
The colours are bright and suggest clean air with no pollution.

My parents in law took me here 12 years ago, but I never saw what I see what you can see here. The view certainly deserve a lot of good remarks. For example, the light and shadows over the beautiful landscape, low POV with the stream coming in from the left taking the eyes to the sea; all in blue reflecting the blue sky. The presence of the tinny people on the beach also provided a touch of life to this superb composition.

Hello Tony,
this time the most part of the picture is in shadow but it is perhaps even better through them. The great rocks (the green part) are more majestic and the contrast to sky and water (the blue parts) is more pronounced. Very good!
