As we are locked down and have to stay in our local government area at present we've been revisiting old favourites around our district.
One of those spots is Echo Point in the part of Morton National Park near Bundanoon. For Australians and others who have visited here this is not the more famous Echo Point over 100 km to the north near Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. Unlike that other Echo Point our one does not get tourists by the coach load.
This Echo Point looks out over and along the deep valley of Bundanoon Creek as it snakes its way towards the coast through wild country, accessible only to the most adventurous.
This is an area that the disastrous fires of early last year (remember pre COVID times?) swept through and if you look closely in the large view you'll see many patches that haven't yet fully recovered.

Hello Ian,
I often learn more about Australian nature from your photos. This looks like central Africa to me. It's an interesting and quite exciting scenery, but I would have needed better trained eyes to observe the areas that still haven't recovered from the fires.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
The wideness of the area is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the Morton National Park. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
This is a fascinating spot with lots of vegetation covering the slopes all the way down to the river. I had noticed the blackened spots but generally, the area seems to be recovering well.
I have to ask, do sounds echo?
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Ian,
I like the 'zed' shaped pattern of the gorge. Good sharpness and excellent colour, sharpness and nice warm cold colour contrasts between the yellow green fg foliage and the blue haze in the bg, caused by evaporating eucalyptus oil. Tfs!

Hi Ian,this part seems to have escaped well from last year's fires, a magnificent view, still rich in nature and colors, the choice of POV is truly spectacular and the quality is excellent as ever. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ian,
You create nice depth and perspective but an extraordinarily panorama about this area
The rocks between the green in background make your picture attractive.
Excellent composition, nice of colours too.
Very well done, TFS.

Hello Ian,
A beautiful landscape with those gentle slope and some steeper cliffs. The trees cover the area very nicely and add a nice and smooth touch. The sidelight was very nice as well.

Hello Ian
Some hikers could appreciate this winding valley as well as the
alphorn players for the echoed melodies!
Amazing whims of nature.
Cheers

Hello Ian, a great view from Echo Point. So much forested land, and so many cliffs, it looks impenetrable. The valley meanders through the composition creating some shadow and defining the lie of the land.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ian,
You had excellent viewing conditions here, and the sun angle reveals all the details of the topography. The horizon looks a very long way away. Great sharpness and exposure.

Hello Ian,
Hmm, I did not know Paul Bunyan went as far as Australia! Nice view. (Paul Bunyan is the American folk hero who created the Grand Canyon when he dragged his axe on the ground, you see.)
Regards,
MT
