New spring growth, a photo from New South Wales, East

Just along the low cliff next to yesterday's photos water seeps down providing moisture for ferns. In the main photo you can see bright new pink/red growth on the ferns providing good contrast with the old growth.
In the WS: Nearby wildflowers were bursting into flower for spring with the photo showing small pea flowers. They are flowers of the Pultenaea daphnoides.

Hello Ian,

You are, for me, at the best season of the year, when new life is springing up all around.
These small ferns are lovely, with pink hues emerging along with the greens. My ferns are much bigger and have no such subtleties of colour!
I love the idea that wild flowers are appearing, too. They are so important for native insects, especially early in the year.

I liked the plants. we have a similar small fern like this too. here the pink leaved added a special aspect to the compo. nice the other flower in WS too.

A simple composition and subject but yet an excellent and very attractive picture of these fern leaves in green or in red colours.
Also with the underlying rock and the moss that grows on it.

Hi Ian,
You know so much about plants! Great series of photos. It is nice to have such amazing national parks at your footstep.
I actually also live near a national park (North York Moors NP and a bit further Lake District NP) but the first one is not as exciting and the second partly overcrowded and partly difficult to access.
