Morans Waterfall, a photo from Queensland, East

Lamington NP has several waterfalls with this one, Morans, being in the O'Reillys section of the park (quite correct Chris). The falls are about 80 metres high and are reached by a moderately steep and narrow but not very long track. The track does get muddy after rain and you may have to walk through some water if there has been recent rain, as was the case when I visited.
If you go to the large view you'll even see a couple of idiots sitting close to the top of the Falls.
That branch is a bit of an irritant but the viewing area is quite small and on the edge of a cliff. I notice that it was the same branch there in 2008 when Antonio Ribeiro also took a photo of the falls.
In the WS is a wider view of the falls and neighbouring cliffs.

Hi Ian

There are nice places all over Australia. I've never been to Barrington Tops but I would imagine it is similar to Lamington NP. There are a couple of people at the top of the falls. A woman on the track I met remarked that she had just seen a lyrebird. But I never saw one. The black and gold regent bower bird and the more common blue bowerbird were much easier to spot, along with the king parrots and rosellas. Hope you missed the tiger snakes. One of the few parts of Qld where they can be spotted. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
Parked cars are more annoying to certain pictures than a branch, but I see what you mean. ;-) It's a well exposed photo of the narrow but beautiful waterfall and its nice surroundings. This vertical shape suits this view better than the wider WS.

Hello Ian, a very impressive point of view.
The branch does not mar the view.
Yes, I can see two people at the top of the falls, in rather a precarious place!
I imagine that the sound of the falling water must be quite loud.
The bright green of the trees and plants is beautiful.

spectacular waterfall capture. The whole setting is so dense with lush vegetation. The tree branch touches the waterfall from above.

Hello Ian,

This is a magnificent, long waterfall.
I can imagine the noise, as the water erupts over the edge of the cliff and cascades swiftly down the face. It’s so curious, that some green leaves can be seen through the stream of water. How interesting! It’s a fine photograph, my favourite of the two.

nice view of these falls in the middle of the forest. few weeks ago a couple fell down in a similar place near my home and died. the guy tried to save the girl and the two ones fell down above the stones, 80 meters bellow. a terrible death. and it isn't the first case in the area.

Hello Ian,
Ideally, the branch should have hung more to the right, in front of the rock wall. But I certainly don't find it disturbing.
We see even more visitors in the top right corner.
They provide a good indication of the scale of the waterfall.
Of course we do not like to see someone sitting endlessly next to a subject to be photographed.
