Scary?!!!, a photo from Victoria, East

Photographer's Note

Scary? No, just a good graffiti painting if graffiti can be good! This mural is in central Melbourne, a few streets away of the Royal Exhibition Building. The place is a temporary small car park and the photograph is only one third of the wall where the painting is. I have tried a full view but the other parked cars were badly on the way and did not allow for a proper shot.

A good effect because the blue of the car fits welll with that of the graffiti. It seems that Mr T is trying to express a message against drugs here (at least, that the way I will prefer to interpret it...).

É caso para dizer que é pena que um graffiti tão bom esteja 'escondido' por detrás dos carros de um parque de estacionamento. Devia estar num sítio mais visível para ser devidamente apreciado. A verdade é que te safaste muito bem aqui, pois o carro azul não incomoda nada e quase que parece pertencer à pintura. Excelente foto.

Hi Antonio, an excellent example of "street photography". Graffiti is often difficult to pack a punch in photos where in real-life it looks fantastic. You've had no problems here and done a very good job. The colours are very realistic - not over-saturated - which is very tempting in such scenes. Bravo, Lisa.

Sua foto é muito interessante Antonio,
nos remete a ficar tentando "decifrá-la". Gostei das cores e luminosidade como um todo.
A princípio, pensei na foto sem o automóvel, entretanto, vendo melhor, a cena sugere que o homem da pintura está tentando amassá-lo.

A verdade é que em algumas partes, estes artistas são bastante perseguidos, mas deverá trabalhar para eles para decorar paredes e muros que são desastrosas. Excelente captura e cores.

A very good quality shot of the graffiti with the blue car blending well with it, almost appear like part of the painting. I wonder why anyone would border to spend so much money, time and effort to do something which is general regarded as a nuisance. Graffiti of this scale is hardly seen in Malaysia.

Hello Antonio! A great graffiti painting and I mean imagine what eye this artist must have to bring this to a wall. I don't mind the cars at all. I guess it would be "shooting a painting" without the cars but it had no connection where it was so I find this really good this way. Funny that you have car parks for small cars, never heard of anything like that but we have no dirt roads in Switzerland and I guess when you travel in Australia you might need bigger cars than we use so it makes sense (we have big cars too of course but it looks kind of ridiculous to have an "off roader" in downtown Zuerich ... This is an amazing work. I saw little grafitti of any kind in 2003. To complete such an extensive work unhindered, makes me wonder if here was some level of legitimacy going on here.

The fires have been terrible, a friend of mine from SA sent me the most horrific group of pictures. You may have seen them, a power point presentation entitled 'Black Saturday.' If you haven't seen it and are interested, I'll send it to you.

une voiture dont la couleur colle bien avec le mur devant elle. On peut dire ici que les graffitis sont de qualité même si je suis loin d'apprécier cet art qui dénature nos villes, véhiculant souvent la violence ou les messages négatifs.
Belle oeuvre bien photographiée.

Olá António,
el grafismo de este graffiti es impactante, y no hay duda que a veces los graffitis pueden ser artísticos, como en este caso.
Su combinación con el coche, con el que se mezcla armónicamente por su color azul, tiene un bonito efecto plástico, y comprendo que no hayas abierto el plano para evitar la presencia de más coches.
Es una buena elección, con un buen resultado fotográfico.

Nesta foto, para mim, só não gostei dos carros, realmente foi uma pena, mas às vezes é difícil excluir estas coisas...No entanto a cor do carro condiz com as cores do graffiti ;-)

O interessante aqui e que o camarada da pintura parece estar socando o carro azul o que da um efeito interesante e atrai a curiosidade. Achei a composicao um pouco compacta, mas pelo que voce descreve nao dava para fazer diferente por causa dos outros carros. Voce tentou uma vertical?

Notável efeito de 3D, o carro parece fazer parte da pintura, ou melhor, a pintura "sai" das duas dimensões. O 'P' de "parking" nos situa, além da nota, claro.

Hello Antonio. Signs, symbols, graffiti. All are in the long run reports for others. Walls are the suitable surfaces for this kind of the expression of opinion. This artistic style, does not please everyone. But the work photographed by you is very strong and dynamic. The parked cars fit in the best way into the picture. Altogether a good shot. Mr T seems to be leaping out of the wall...the graffiti is that good. It seems like the scene from a recent chocolate bar ad but it is replaced by th 'all dope'. Colors are nice and the angle is quite casual and 'streety'

Scary? I don't know. A little intimidating? Probably. The graffiti paintins is good, and the blue of the car matches it perfectly. Street photography can bring very fascinating somethimes.

Despite the fact that I would had preferred a shot with the entire car - but as you wrote, that was not possible - I like the picture because the graffiti power is great. Bold colors and great sharpness. Well done
