Photographer's Note
Another shot from my series of the national volleyball competition which is touring Australia.
This moment of the game here was quite a critical play as it neared towards the end of the second game of the three game series. Did the player in white position the ball into the right spot? Did the player in red manage to make the right decision in 1/800 of a second to block the ball?

Hi Brendan,
I like very much, this serie of volleyball shots. This another great captured with a very good timming. Very good sharpness and colours. I love the tension and the expression of effort in the one in white. I guess she managed to make the point - Am I right?
Well done and thanks a lot for sharing it!
Best regards,
Ricardo

Another superbly captured moment Brendan, very expressive and dynamic. Again the high shutter speed freezes the action with pinpoint sharpness. This is worthy of Sports Illustrated.

Ciao Brendan
Ahh I see, I didn't realise this was part of a series. This is also excellent, the facial expression and muscle tones not to mention colours, are all superb. I don't think 1/800 was enough to stop the ball though as it is slightly blurred. However this is excellent work.

Great action shot - good viewpoint to get this view of the game. Amazing that even with a 1/800 shutter speed there's still some movement visible on the ball, showing just how fast it actually spins!

Nice timing Brendan - great muscle definition on the forward player too - and a good creative decision to crop to the square(r) format! Nice work!

Hi Brendan. I like your picture name, and also the picture of course. It is very sharp on the two players, and it leaves a little bit of unsharp on the ball, which shows the rapidity of this game. The facial expression of concentration is impressive. Excellent sport capture.

Great action photo here. All the focus on the ball by the players is excellent. Well done.

interesting point by captain jack ... the ball must have had some speed on it if you couldn't capture it cleanly at 1/800. the blur isn't a bad thing, just an observation on how fast the ball flies in a game of beach volleyball.
you've captured a very good moment, definitely a decisive moment i think! great shot!
