Photographer's Note

Ward’s Canyon is a part of the Carnarvon Gorge. The story goes that Wards brothers hunted in the neighbourhood and used to store meat in the canyon. When one enters the canyon there are two impressions: you came in to a fridge, you went back in time millions of years.
The canyon is so called that even in the middle of a summer one can freeze in there. This is a natural phenomenon and I did not find any explanation for it.
The canyon also looks like a place, where time stopped long, long time ago and no modern plants are allowed to grow. Being there, one expects that at any moment a dinosaur would come out from behind the corner.
