Can you guess where this is? There is a clue in the photo. That's right, it's the tree on the left - a Port Jackson fig. Port Jackson is another name for Sydney Harbour, and these fig trees grow all around the harbour. And yes, that bridge in the background might be another clue.

This is a part of the Sydney Botanic Gardens called Mrs Macquaries Point. The scene is a classic sunny afternoon on the harbour, with the sunlight reflecting off the water like a thousand sparkling diamonds, and people walking, running, sitting down and generally having a nice time. This was the first day of winter in Australia. I grew up in Sydney, but I lived in the outer suburbs, a long way from the harbour, so I didn't visit it often. But every time I went there it was a fantastic experience, and it still is.
