Photographer's Note

Broadmeadow Racecourse, Newcastle, NSW.
A day at the races. Or rather a few minutes by the perimeter fence of the racecourse. The track runs right next to Chatham Street for a distance, and all I did was to slap on a long lens (200mm I think), shove it through the wire mesh fence, use a slow shutter speed, and pan with the galloping horses. All the atmosphere of raceday without paying to get in and wasting money backing the tail-ender. I was living in Newcastle at the time, on a year's teaching exchange, so knew the area well. When I got the wallet of prints back from the chemist's (as you did with colour print film in those days), they hadn't printed this one, as they said there was a fault on the negative!)
I know it's a long time ago, but I still like it. Scanned from the original negative (not the print) on a Nikon dedicated film scanner.
