Photographer's Note
Please open both photos in new tabs for the better versions.
Kinchega NP near Menindee borders the Darling River around 350 km down river from my last lot of river photos.
In this photo you can see the remains of what would not have been a very solid bridge over the river. It would probably have been used to move sheep from one side of the river to the other.
The water level at this point is lower than in my previous river photos (see the Louth folder) as some of the water gets diverted into the Menindee lakes.
In the WS another riverside River Red Gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis).

Hi Ian
An interesting image with the remains of the poor bridge looking like creatures trying to escape the water.

Hello Ian,
The little that remains of the bridge certainly doesn't look very solid. It's still an attractive photo, but a wooden bridge full of sheep would have been even better.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
The point of view is showing the details of the remains of the old bridge, of the shore and of the trees. The colors and the sharpness are very good. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian, seeing the dead wood floating in the water I was reminded of crocodiles! Unsure of where crocodiles are actually to be found in your country.
There's not much of the old bridge left, and if you hadn't mentioned it, we probably wouldn't have guessed that the three vertical poles were once part of a bridge.
I like both pictures.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ian,
one has to use imagination a lot to be able to see a bridge there. Nevertheless it is a beautiful riverside composition. The color of the water is original. I like the little sand cliffs in the distance.
Beautiful natural scenery,
M

Hi Ian
A sad demise - no bridge now, at least this does make an interesting record shot.

Hello Ian,
There is very little left of the bridge, although I like the wooden shapes in the water, and their reflections.
For me, the w/s is a better composition, more pleasing to linger over.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian!
As far as I can see, there is not more left of that bridge than of the bridges in my home district after the severe floodings only six weeks ago. They all simply disappeared and have partly bee replaced by military bridges or other provisory buildings.

Hello Ian.
These two photos of the river are interesting, in the WS we see the large eucalyptus trees, in this main one it seems that the river in its floods has pierced the ground, the bridge difficult to guess, they only occur to me as remains, these half submerged logs.
Excellent POV, with very good lighting, color and sharpness.
Enjoy a happy Sunday.
Very best regards.
Luis.

I have a plantation with these camaldulensis eucalyptus, they are used for its strong timber for fences. nice views of the river, the main post shows the eroded edges.

Hello Ian,
The first thing I notice is the murkiness of the river. You are right, those three posts would not have supported tractor trailers when there was a deck to the bridge.
Regards,
MT
